If you've programmed a new HuMo-genealogy feature (that you'd like to see included in the official version), please upload and describe your work here.

Users editing their own records

Post by Bokkie »

Hello,

I am trying to come up with a website that members of my (extended) family can access, look up data about their ancestors and in general interact.
I've started installing a separate CMS (Wordpress) to set up the interaction bit, but I was thinking it would be really neat to have everything revolve around the genealogical data.

I've looked at the CMS section, but I'm not entirely sure how to start there. Is there a CMS manual to draw ideas from, or are these pages just HTML/PHP and whatever works, goes?

First think I'd really like to have is for a user to log in, and see their own information, together with an option to edit this information.
I think it'll be quite a project, but I have to start somewhere...

Hi Bokkie,

The front page of HuMo-genealogy, like https://humo-gen.com/humo-gen/ can be changed. Every item can be moved or changed.
This is done in: Admin -> Control -> Homepage.
It's also possible to replace the homepage of HuMo-genealogy by a CMS page. One of the created CMS pages could be the front page.

Cms pages can be like this:
https://huubmons.nl/humo-php/cms_pages

At this moment there are no seperate CMS pages for each user.
HuMo-genealogy update? Backup your database! Editing in HuMo-genealogy? Backup your data!
Make multiple backups with: PHPMyAdmin, gedcom export and database export.
